Find out more about black horn

Natural horn consists of 2 parts:

on the upper part of the horn is a solid, massive part. This is the most precious and aesthetic part of the horn, as it is the densest and oldest.

It's also the smallest part of the horn, often barely a third of the total length!

A material favored by cutlers, horn is often used. Several animal species are selected for the manufacture of unique handles: buffalo (black horn only), zebu (black, blond or mottled horn), impala, antelope, springbok, kudu...

Horns from African and Asian cattle are generally used. Goat, ram, chamois and mouflon horns, on the other hand, are often used in the design and manufacture of regional knives.
