      Boxwood… A remarkable reference!

This wood, known and used for millennia, is both a symbol of tradition and an exceptional material. Native to Southern Europe and Asia Minor, it grows across the continent, from the north of Scotland to the south of Greece. Its remarkable density and hardness made it a prized choice as far back as prehistoric times, when it was used to craft tools long before the mastery of metal.

With its fine grain and durability, boxwood was also widely used for engraving, printing, and mold-making. Sculptors and turners favored it for crafting flutes, spinning tops, and chess pieces.

Did you know? Nicknamed "eternal wood," boxwood remains green for a long time after being cut. A symbol of immortality, it is also tied to traditions like Palm Sunday, where blessed branches were used to protect homes and harvests throughout the year.
