More abour Light Horn

The horn that we use for the manufacture of our knives usually comes from the most solid part: the tip. Prior to use and depending upon the shape of the horn, it may be heat-treated.

It may be pale blonde in colour (cow horn) or plain blonde streaked with a dark beige (referred to as « burnished »).

Horn is a natural material and the handle of your knife may dry out after a few years and reveal its surface fibre. To prevent this from happening, feel free to oil the handle from time to time as if it were wood. To revive and soften the patina of time, simply use a very fine grade coachwork paper (P400), rub down the handle gently and evenly and polish it with linseed oil, for example.
